Connect your number

Plug in your own Gupshup WhatsApp app so campaigns and replies come from your business number, not the shared test one.

What "connecting" means

WA Suite doesn't talk to WhatsApp directly — it talks to Gupshup, a Meta-approved BSP. To send from your own number you:

  1. Create a WhatsApp app in Gupshup and get its number approved by Meta (done entirely on Gupshup's side).
  2. Copy two values from Gupshup — the source number and the API key — into WA Suite.
⚠️

WA Suite does not create the Gupshup app for you. You need a working Gupshup WhatsApp app first. The phone number must not be active on the normal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app.

Connecting, step by step

1

Get your credentials from Gupshup

In the Gupshup dashboard, open your WhatsApp app. Note the registered phone number (with country code, digits only — 91XXXXXXXXXX) and generate / copy the API key.

2

Open Connect Number

Sidebar → 🔌 Connect Number (admin only).

3

Enter and save

Paste the WhatsApp source number and Gupshup API key, then 🔌 Save Connection. Leave the key field blank on future edits to keep the current key.

4

Check the status

The status box confirms whether WA Suite can reach Gupshup with those credentials. Green means you're ready to send.

5

Set the webhook in Gupshup

So inbound replies and delivery updates reach WA Suite, set your Gupshup app's callback/webhook URL to the address shown in the Connect panel. Without it, the Inbox won't receive messages.

Until you connect

Sends fall back to a shared test number — fine for trying the app, but customers will see an unfamiliar sender and you share its rate limits and quality rating with other trial accounts. Connect your own before any real campaign.
